Mindfulness course for children (5-12 years)

Many children and adolescents have difficulty concentrating. They do not sleep well, worry and have concerns. They also find it difficult to relax, or to simply switch off and do nothing. And they are continually online. Their head is too full, the triggers too many.

They are told to so many things. By themselves, by school, by society. How do you teach a child to relax, to stop worrying, to trust in their own qualities and stay afloat in this demanding 21st century?

Mindfulness is to stop at the moment, is to kindly accept what is inside and outside without judging by observing what is inside and the environment with a clear attention, by demonstrating compassion for ourselves. Instead of living in automated pilot and reacting, it is not to live at automated pilot by increasing awareness in the moment and it is to select reaction that you will give.

The development of conscious attention is the basis for every form of learning. ‘Mindfulness’, or practicing conscious, focused attention, influences children’s learning. Practicing conscious attention can be compared with tuning a musical instrument before you play it. Why should we not tune our learning instruments before we use them? An increasing number of boards, management teams and teachers are at the forefront of a rapidly growing movement to give mindfulness a permanent place in the 21st century school curriculum. Because in doing this, you not only stimulate learning. You also stimulate self-confidence, creativity, compassion and the executive functions. The brain comes to rest, impulsive behaviour and stress reactions decrease. There is calm. Calm and concentrated attention. Something every child deserves. Read more about the effects of meditation on the (child’s) brain.

Mindfulness based yoga course (children, teenagers, adults)

Mindfulness based Yoga combines  mindfulness practice with yoga as exercise to provide a means of exercise that is also

meditative and useful for reducing stres.

Mindfulness has always been an essential aspect of the physical practice of yoga. The difference between Mindful Yoga and the wide variety of yoga practices out there is that with Mindful Yoga, the main focus is on mind-body awareness, as opposed to alignment details and the exact physical posture. The point is to cultivate mindfulness, using asana as the vehicle in which to do so.

Mindfulness transforms movement and yoga into a form of meditation.

When we coordinate movement with the breath, paying attention to the sensations in the body as we move, completely feeling the experience in that moment without any judgment or expectations, respecting our boundaries with self-compassion and kindness, yoga becomes a mindful exercise in itself and it becomes a MEDIATIVE PRACTICE.

We take a journey to ourselves and to our bodies with mindfulness-based yoga practices.

The term "yoga" comes from a Sanskrit word meaning "union." Yoga combines physical exercises, mental meditation, and breathing techniques to strengthen the muscles and relieve stress.

Yoga can be practiced by anyone of any age. It is not limited to just one age group. The main purpose of yoga is to increase health and vitality. Many of the poses used in yoga are gentle and simple movements designed to ease the mind and soul.

The direct experience of Yoga gives us a actual connection and therefore  enlightened understanding of the meaning of our lives and an inner light to guide our own development.

Turkish Language Course Using Creative Thinking, Reading, Writing Skills

We are having Turkish courses with children by using “Creative thinking, writing, reading, techniques and storytelling techniques”. These studies can be done in these ways:

  • Courses to learn speaking or writing Turkish with bilingual children whose mother or father is Turkish…

  • Courses to learn speaking, reading or writing Turkish with children who are living abroad for a while and they are nearly about to forget their native language…

  • Turkish courses for children who live in Turkey and want to enrich their language knowledge with Creative Thinking skills and Storytelling techniques.

I always remember what my Linguistics teacher said while I was studying at the university. The relationship of our brain with language is much more complex and rich than communicating and expressing it self. There is a strong connection between language development and mental development. When you learn a new language or do some studies in your native language, as it were the neurons in our brain glow and build new connections.

Language is a real miracle which becomes real with the whole contribution of the brain.

Turkish language course using storytelling techniques

Storytelling as an ancient art form and a valuable form of human expression.

Storytelling helps children learn to understand each other's differences.  Children can connect their own experiences to the ones they are learning about and then move on to create their own stories. Storytelling encourages children to tell their own stories orally, in writtig and in pictures.

Storytelling with children is an effective way to enhance the language of children, including vocabulary, grammar, and narrative skills.

Stories are great tools for memorizing new words and phrases because they leverage important memory mechanisms like emotion, visualization, exaggeration, movement and connections.

In stories, every word you come across is surrounded by other words and phrases. Essentially, stories always give you some context, and context is key for memorizing words because it helps you create connections and associations, which are paramount if you want to remember the new vocabulary.

Everyone is a storyteller. It’s unique way of developing and learning languages. It’s a kind of magical theatre…
